It covers all aspects of rare event simulation ranging from purely theoretical developments to practical applications. The objective is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners working in different locations and on different applications to present recent results, exchange ideas, and discuss open problems and new directions.
There will be two invited speakers:
Authors will also be invited to submit their paper to a special issue on Rare Event Simulation that will appear in ACM Transactions on Modeling and Computer Simulation.
There will be a best student paper award, sponsored by the Fondation Metivier.
RESIM 2008 solicits papers on rare event simulation methodologies and applications, including (but not limited to) the following list of topics.
